Play will run for two weeks, then break for entire weekend (a 12-day run-time, technically). The active period will represent a single night of game-time, and can be assumed to be a Friday to achieve a confluence of business, social, and all other forms of interaction being active within the night. The downtime will catch the game up to real-time, and is meant to cover characters and the world at large going through Influence actions. Players should have their downtime actions submitted at least halfway through the down weekend, and will be informed of the results of their actions (within the scope of their knowledge) before game resumes for the next game night.

Posts should be made in third-person past-tense for the sake of consistency, but that's a guideline even I'll slip on occasionally. More strictly, anything written in a post is free information for other players to use at their discretion. "Spoiler" windows may be used to differentiate between fully broadcasted information and, say, a text message to a single person (which should be done in a thread, not a private message). Storyteller discretion may be used to alter who the appropriate readers for a spoiler window are, but it is emphasized that reading inside these windows when you are not an intended recipient is a "party foul." Spoiler windows are also encouraged for role-play-breaking elements such as rules highlights and dice rolls. In the case of a dice roll, please fully announce the sources of all dice and whatever specialty your character possesses that you feel is relevant to the challenge.

Roll script:
Code:
[roll="d10"]#[/roll] where # is the amount of dice you wish to have rolled

Example attempting to climb a wall:

Any post in which a roll has been made can not be edited without the script re-rolling and likely changing the results. Any necessary edits should either be made in a following post, or with Storyteller approval after the initial result was preserved.

When to use dice in social circumstances that could be covered by role-playing is a common question in World of Darkness games. As a general rule of thumb, dice should guide roleplay but never replace it, and should be implemented only during pivotal moments - the final arguments in a debate, a key speech before Court, preventing a thrall from storming out of your haven.
Where deception is involved, the burden of pulling out the dice falls on the defender. That is, if a player feels that their character is being lied to, they must make a check (often Perception+Empathy) opposed by the other's (Manipulation+Subterfuge). The consequence of this is that the dice make up the character's mind - before the dice were rolled, she may think however she pleased, but once a dice result is on the table the character must be entirely decided on how they feel about what was said.

Players should set their Signatures to be shown after every post. Signatures should contain information about your character that everyone they interact with would immediately be aware of. This means a brief physical description, their attire for the night (or scene), and certain Merits, such as those listed below:

Bruiser, Friendly Face, Blush of Health, Enchanting Voice, Huge Size, Short, Smell of the Grave, Tic/Twitch, Disfigured, One Eye, Open Wound (4pt version), Child, Deformity, Glowing Eyes, Lame, Monstrous, Permanent Fangs, Permanent Wound, Flesh of the Corpse, Speech Impediment, Natural Leader, Rep, Sanctity, Deceptive Aura, Cold Breeze, Touch of Frost, Beacon of the Unholy, Eerie Presence, and Lord of the Flies.

Needless to say, these should all be roleplayed consistently by the player who has them. Putting them in your signature is just a reminder for other players (and, let's be honest, the ST) on how to react on a per-post basis to your character, even if you've said four times in the thread already that your character has "a chill wind following [him] everywhere [he] goes."

In order to improve your character, please post your requested XP expenditure in your 'Temporaries' thread. So long as this is done prior to your character joining the game for a session (and is an approved purchase), the staff will update your character's sheet and XP tracker appropriately.
